Tourist attractions
Wałbrzych is located in the Central Sudety Mountains, in a picturesque valley, above which stretch the afforested Wałbrzyskie Mountains. Despite the fact that Wałbrzych is the second-largest city in the Lower Silesian region, the tumult which usually accompanies city life is not present – mainly because of the mountains which overlook the town. Wałbrzych is a “green” city – forests and meadows cover over half of its territory. The Książ Landscape Park is home to the mouflon. The natural scenery serves both tourists and those inhabiting the region. Everyone who enjoys exercising, active sightseeing, contact with the natural environment or historical monuments will find something for his or herself in Wałbrzych.
Among the most interesting places to visit in the region are:
- Książ Castle
- the Palm House
- Grodno Castle
- The “Old Mine” Multicultural Park and the Technology Museum
- Szczawno-Zdrój
- Jedlina-Zdrój
